Impacts of Bill 25 on Quebec Public Bodies: Data Governance Issues and Solutions
Bill 25, the Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information, which was adopted by the National Assembly on September 21, 2021 and assented to on September 22, 2021, introduces major changes in the area of research and, in particular, allows a public body to disclose personal information if the use thereof is necessary for study, research or statistical purposes, but does add new obligations. We will review the impact of these new obligations on public bodies.
If you will be designing, developing or operating a project or initiative that involves personal information or that may have an impact on the privacy of individuals, the Act imposes governance obligations, including rules regarding privacy impact assessments.
In this webinar, Guillaume Caron, CEO and Co-Founder of VARS and Mtre Sébastien Meunier, Lawyer and Vice-President, Data Governance Practice with VARS, enlighten you on these new obligations and guide you through this new situation.
